Hey, my name is Rob! I'm a close friend of Sooty (who actually set me up to play with the guitarist and bassist to form this band) and have been a member of this forum for over a year now. I don't post very often but I do check out things on the site. My internet is horrible for posting here...
You have some awesome songs and albums on here so far. Can't wait to read about the rest of them. You should definitely check out the Staind album. It was one of my favorites from the past year!!
Your right not all old CDs at Best Buy are $10 or less but a lot of them are. I can say that I haven't seen a single disc, non-special edition album for over $16 in a U.S. Best Buy or Wal-Mart in a while. I believe that with a little bit of searching you can find almost any album that is still...
That is so well said. I agree with all of that 110%!! It does take the fun out of it. You don't appreciate music as much when you can have it all anytime for free. People don't realize how much time and effort goes into making an album or even a song.
I am talking about artists that have had big success in the music industry. How many artists do you know that have had big success without the help of a major label somewhere in the success chain? I agree that there is a ton of deception and greed in the music industry. In terms of recording...
Where do you shop that sells CDs for $15 to $30? Do you live in the U.S.? Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, Amazon, and a ton of other retailers sell new CDs for $10 and under. Many older artist's albums are cheaper then newer ones at those places.
You are absolutely right. My post was focused on major record labels because people who complain about labels are usually talking about the big four. It takes a lot of money to promote artists. Most independent companies don't have the money to successfully promote their artists. I am glad...
Everyone keeps bashing the record companies, but where do you think artists get the money from in order to record their albums? You would have never even heard of a lot of the artists that you know without the support and promotion from the labels. Radio success = big tours which = all the...
I don't see how spending $10 for something that you "Love" is too much. The $10 goes to many different people that helped make the album that you are enjoying. Not just the artist and not just the record label. If you can't be bothered to spend some money on the art-form you love, then you...
Re: The Official "The Calling (Alex Band)" Thread
Stigmatized is one of my all-time favorite songs. So emotionally powerful. I really wish The Calling would put out another album.
