Randy Rhoads vs. Eddie Van Halen
Eddie Van Halen although Randy was great too. The intro is cool but the rest of the song is too harsh and noisy, lacking good hooks for my taste. Aerosmith are one of my favourite bands but of their classic era this song has never been a favourite. They were better when doing boogie stuff like Same Old Song And Dance and Mama Kin. 5/10- RhyeInTheJar

Musically not bad, but it's too close to cloying 80s pop ballads for my taste. The Scorpions did better ballads than that. When The Smoke Is Going Down for example shows their ballad writing skills at their best. 6/ 10- RhyeInTheJar

Best artists to start into the blues?
Charlie Patton if you want some of the most absolute bare bones blues stuff. He is often called the father of delta blues.The sound quality of his recordings is atrocious but that in a way is the gritty appeal. "Progressive" Maiden/Metallica
Somewhere in Time although Seventh Son is easily more progressive. It's basically a concept album. And Justice For All does have a cooler album cover though I admit. BTW did you know that the long white ribbon on the bottom of SIT actually spells out "This is a very boring painting" backwards...- RhyeInTheJar

How were some classic rock acts viewed when you were growing up?
As much as we like to think we base our judgement on music acts solely on the music itself there isn't any doubt that music acts will have fluctuating degrees of "cool" associated with them, depending on location and time period.
