Paul McCartney's solo career > John Lennon's solo career (and george's and ringo's)

Re: Paul McCartney's solo career > John Lennon's solo career (and george's and ringo' Different strokes. I preferred John's work with the Beatles more than Paul's. I just like his style of music more than Paul's sappy pop. I always thought of John as more of an artist while Paul was more of a...

Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band (Official Thread)

Re: Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band I like Seger. Don't really know a whole lot. I have Live Bullet and the Greatest hits Volume 1 and Volume 2. Live Bullet is consistently in my rotation. I really want to see him live. I have a friend who has seen a ton of the legends like the Stones, Dylan...

    George Harrison (Official Thread)

Re: The Official George Harrison Thread He was very into Eastern religion, especially Hinduism. He was introduced to it when the Beatles made a trip to India in 1966. It was a mind-opening experience for all of them, especially George. He started to learn the sitar from Ravi Shankar, who...

    Tom Petty (Official Thread)

Re: Official Tom Petty Thread First of all, great write up on the band eberg :cheers2 I'm surprised you don't like the Last DJ though. I always kind of dug it. Although I understand that the writing isn't as clever, but I think he was trying to be to the point. Definitely not his best work...

Most Underrated Rock Band (One Choice Only!)

Petty was my first thought when I saw this thread too. I think most people like Petty, but they should like him a lot more. Best thing about him...he's still going just as strong after 30 years.

Best Rock Album of The Last 20 Years...

Couldn't agree more. It's not my cup of tea, but the impact it made on people and music is enormous and therefore the best album in the last 20 years. My personal favorites would be Wildflowers by Petty or (What's the Story) Morning Glory by Oasis.

Your Five Most Influential c.d.s (Share Why, Stories, etc.)

    1. Abbey Road - The Beatles Before I really listened to Abbey Road, I never thought of an album as a piece of art. I just thought they were collections of songs. I can still remember when the light first came on, I listened to this album nearly every day for about a month. I never got tired of...

Best Closing Track on an Album

A Day in the Life to end Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club band. Quite possibly the best song by the best band on the most influential album of all time. Others: Jungleland by Springsteen Are you Experienced? by Hendrix Tonight's the Night Part 2 by Neil Young Tomorrow Never Knows by the...

    Foo Fighters (Official Thread)

Re: Foo Fighters Saw them live a couple years ago. If you like any of their songs and get a chance to see them live, GO! Great show. Great band. Dave Grohl is the f***** man. This song blew me away when I saw them and quickly became one of my favorites by them. Jk44WlYkF00

    Third Eye Blind (Official Thread)

Re: The Official "Third Eye Blind" Thread I liked all their hits and I started to get into more fan favorites before I saw them live a couple years ago. They put on a great show. They rocked out more than I was expecting, but it was a great time. I'll always dig them.

    Ben Folds: Five or Solo?

Solo. Whenever I want to listen to Ben Folds, I listen to Ben Folds Live. None of the album versions are as good as they sound on the album IMO.

    Radiohead (Official Thread)

Re: Radiohead I've been wanting to get into Radiohead for a long time. I recognize their talent, innovation, and that they are probably their era's Beatles. I just don't know about Tom Yorke's voice. When he starts to do his screams or holding out notes, it just really rubs me the wrong way...
