The last group on the list is The Ocean which I put in both my 2013 and album review thread. They have one album I know thus far but I'm addicted to it. It's called Pelagial. It's an awesome concept album where the music flows from song tyo song like someone dropping deeper and deeper into The Ocean. The themes double as a psychological descent as well. The vocals like Opeth range from beautiful and clear, very James Maynard Keenan in this case, to harsh when the story/music calls for intensity. Hope you get something from this if you have time! Peace! :)

And the next suggestion is based upon your recent interest in metal. I didn't want to plug it in your journal as you are interested in classic albums for now. I'm not a huge metalhead but I have found some recent intelligent Metal acts and would recommend these three: Opeth, While Heaven Wept and The Ocean. Opeth is honestly more of a forum favorite but I've gotten to like their stuff. The range is what gets me as the artist will release these really dark, harsh metal and then do these beautiful works of metal that feels more progressive and even folkish. The vocalist has amazing range. While Heaven Wept has a great mix of progressive, doom and symphonic metal. The vocalist has a really easy to listen to Hetfield like vocal with way better range and the instrumentals are amazing. The music takes you away like a fantasy.

A few things Musikwala! First off I know you don't have time to listen to every recommendation that comes your way but I saw you mention how cool the cover of one of the cds in my photo albums was. That band is Brand New and they have some amazing work. The album you saw is really good but the following one titled The Devil and God Are Raging inside me is a modern classic imo and one of my favorites of all time. I also like the cover for it even better than the one you liked which is Deja Entendu. The Devil album is modern hard rock with a Pink Floyd like aspirations. It's themes are very deep regarding faith, religion, guilt, addiction and he realities of life that we all deal with from life to our own mortality. It's one of my favorite albums period! :)

It is a great forum with lots of super friendly people - made some great cyber pals here over the years! Yeah CRF has slowed down quite a bit of late, just hope it will pick up again. I will certainly visit the Keane thread!
Thanks re: my profile page :)
