    Black Sabbath (Official Thread)

Went to see the Sabs last week and Geezer and Iommi are in fine form, Ozzy's voice was feeling the pinch during Dirty Women towards the end. Tommy Clufetos is exceptional and Ozzy explains that Bill Ward simply cannot play anymore. A superb show.

    Overrated Albums/Bands

First of all Never Mind The Bollocks is a great rock n' roll record shamefully underrated due to the image of the band, it was a musical revelation at the time and along with the first albums from the Ramones, Clash and Stranglers it deserves a lot more accolades than it receives. Music was...

T-Rex - The Slider (Rate this album)

The music of Bolan is of love and the magic of life, Electric Warrior travels a misty world of magic and sex, it rocks, it grooves, it rolls and moves. Bolan was at his creative peak, the demand for all things Bolan in 1972 was immense and the release by Fly of the Bolan Boogie compilation...

    T. Rex (Official Thread)

I've been listening to Electric Warrior a lot this year, it is without doubt one of the best albums of the 70's. I wish Bolan had more guidance and was more savvy when it came to his image and the way he went about it with the press. The media crucified him at the time and unjustly so, forcing...

Aerosmith - Draw The Line (Rate this album)

They were on a roll with Toys In The Attic and Rocks both classic 70's ball tearing rock n' roll. Draw The Line is an album released by a band on the verge of complete internal and artistic collapse. It all disintegrated so soon.

Mott the Hoople: The Unsung Champions of the 1970's

Mott was always in chaos, Hunter was unique, he was much older than the rest of the group and he knew the ropes, he was also tough and was a hot head, leaving many with a black eye or two from a manchester kiss. Look at him the wrong way in the early 70's and you could be in trouble. Dumped by...

    The Stranglers (Official Thread)

The Stranglers are greatly underrated and often ignored when it comes to the late 70's punk/new wave movement yet they are the most successful and possibly the best of them all. The first 3 albums are incredibly good, they are aggressive, melodic, catchy and they have a feel about them that...

    Hawkwind (Official Thread)

The genius behind the whole Space Rock concept was Robert Calvert who took them away from the hippy trippy psychedelic angle that was the first album and sent them flying off into space with In Search Of Space and the Space Log magazine featured with the album. This culminated with the follow up...
