Re: Bob Dylan
I got my first Bob Dylan album some time between Christmas and March and I never really connected with it. Then in May I found myself sat in Manchester Academy 2 listening to some music playing on the huge speakers while we waited in eager anticipation for Roger Waters to come out...
Re: Pink Floyd
Tis a brilliant album isn't it. I can't get enough of The Gunner's Dream where Roger's yell of "and hold on to the dream" gets mixed with the saxophone (I think it's a sax?). That blew my mind the first time I heard it.

Well Pink Floyd and The Who are my favorites. Everything else kind of branches out from there. I'm really into prog from '69 though '76-ish, so count in all the classics from that branch. I'm really quite a beginner though. I'd say I have a pretty wide base but haven't dug into many artists...
Re: Pink Floyd
Ah. Mine are the same five, though not necessarily in that order (Dark Side on top though for sure!)
When it comes to the bottom five (or so) I tend to place their pre-Meddle work on top of their post-Wall work, but you can probably appreciate that it's never easy to come...
Re: Pink Floyd
I'd be interested to hear what your top 5's are. I don't think Piper makes it into my top 5 either, but given the competition it's up against, that's hardly an insult!
Re: David Gilmour / On an Island
Man I love this album. Thanks for posting. I hadn't seen the "making of" footage before. I certainly prefer this album to any of Waters' solo work (not to deride Roger's music, I enjoy that too).
Have you heard Metallic Spheres, Garrett? From that clip it seems...
Hey everyone. My name is Luke and I have a real passion for the music that I like. As it happens to be classic rock, I find myself here! Nice to meet you all.
