What Kind of Style Guitarist Are You?

I like to mix Metal, Blues, Classic Rock, and recently some jazz techniques in solos, but rhythmically I've been focusing mostly on metal/hard rock riffs and licks.

    Asia (Official Thread)

Re: Asia I am probably the biggest fan of Asia ever. They will always be the first band I ever truly obsessed about. It all started with finding the album "Alpha" and being mesmerized by Roger Dean's landscape. I learned to love the band from the first time I listened to the album and recieved...

I recommend Catharsis if you can find it. But you can find their 1991 and 1996 releases "A Moment Beyond Time" and "Narcissus Goes to the Moon" respectively. I think those two are the best with preference to Narcissus Goes to the Moon as my all time favorite. "Was he afraid to get...

Review Dream Theater - Scenes From a Memory (1999)

Re: Scenes from a Memory ~~~ Dream Theater This was the first Dream Theater album I listened to when I was 15. I fell in love the second I heard "Regression" for the first time. Best Dream Theater album there is in my opinion.

    Screaming & Growling

I guess the debate will never truly be resolved since music appeals to everyone differently. Some enjoy music for relaxation, others use it as motivation and inspiration, and some enjoy rage, anger, and release in music. That's at least how I see it.

The trick to getting into Meshuggah is to listen to the rhythmic brilliance in both the instruments and the vocals. The syncopation between the two are what got me into them in the first place. "It's a rhythmic exercise"

haha thats a pretty old video. I was 16 and I asked a friend of mine if I could play that show. It was a packed house but we were the opening band and we hadn't practiced much together. That was the only show I ever played any of my original material for.

    Screaming & Growling

Meshuggah. Hands down, favorite band with harsh vocals. Wicked progressive and dissident. If you like heavy, I give to you the heaviest band ever f1hmI4eqzps

    Visible Wind

This is an amazing Prog group from the late 80s and 90s out of Quebec, Canada. Starting in 1983 with Stephen Geysens, The band went through several lead singers including Benoit David (the current singer for Yes) until they found Christopher Wells. Wells is featured on lead vocals on their 1988...
