a christmas album has to sound like "festive" for me to like it or at least have a feel that it belongs IMO...
I think Boney-M, Elvis Presley had that spirit on their yuletide albums,
there are also songs by other artists that have "the feel", I just cant see Cheap Trick being able to pull...
I cannot name one solitary track so heres a list of 10 from the 1960s which immediately come to mind:
Tin Soldier - Small Faces
Waterloo Sunset - Kinks
Whiter Shade Of Pale - Procol Harum
Go Now - Moody Blues
Across The Universe - Beatles
Come Tomorrow - Manfred Mann
Fortunate Son - CCR...
The Division Bell is my favourite PF album followed by The Final Cut...
Not too keen on Waters solo material, I find it very patchy at best...
Love Gilmour's solo material, Rattle That Lock is my fave of his.
im not looking back through 99 pages of posts in this thread i'll try to post something that has not previously been posted, and im thinking this one from Cold Chisel:
bWbm4BrLTXY
he had three top 10 hits here in Australia:
Surfin' USA - #2
Runaround Sue - #8
I Was Made For Dancin' - #2
I remember my sister having the album with "i was made for dancin' " on it, she played it to death, I couldn't stand it...
