So another one which is now slipping into the corporate classic rock playlist:

Sweet Dreams - Eurythmics

I've now heard it on "classic rock" stations out of NYC and Philly.

I've read the posts in this thread and have come to the conclusion that you all are presenting your subjective definitions of Classic Rock and what classic rock should be. Let me define absolutely for you and for all members of Classic Rock forums what classic rock is and has been since 1967. 1 word: "Brown Eyed Girl" (star of the County Down). If we need to dot the I's and cross the T's: "Blue Money." I'm blowin' yer mind. Call him the Belfast Bluesman, Van the Man, or Mr. Beautiful Vision. His song defines the genre.

And here we go, now Tears For Fears is being defined as classic rock in the corporate playlists, as I've heard these 2 from a couple of stations over the last few days:

Everybody Wants To Rule The World
Shout

So now another band has become "Classic Rock" - this one totally boggles my mind.

Wang Chung

Everybody Have Fun Tonight
Dance Hall Days

Okay, someone explain to me how those even remotely approach classic rock. Please!

'Classic' is a meaningless term here (particularly, I suspect, in relation to 'classic rock' radio stations) - what we each deem as 'classic' depends purely upon one's age....? Are we suggesting there's been no decent rock music made since some 'random' year in the late sixties / early seventies?!
