I saw them last year after David was accused of miming to his music, I have to say they were ok, except he kept on really trying to shout the high notes, like he was trying to prove a point. I saw them some years ago and they were better, still a great band though, have all their studio and some live albums.

Great band the early stuff I like best, Moody and Marsden were sound. I lost touch after the 84' "Slide It In" which was a real cracker IMO. After seeing them last year I may have to pick up where I left off. They were still rockin` and had the unenviable task of following ZZ top on stage. I think they just about pulled it off.

Can you help out a yank with your description here? Is "real cracker" a compliment, saying how good it was, or does that mean you didn't like it?

Yeah no probs Lynch I thought it was a great album then I think there was a lay off in recordings or a line up change or maybe the move over to the States but I sort off lost the thread with them after "Slide It In".

ahh ok, cool. I love Slide It In. Great rock album!

They didn't put out another album until 1987 after Slide It In. Was a self-titled album with Crying In the Rain, Still of the Night, etc on it. Also a good album

The one with the cracking bird on the video, it used to be shown on screens in pubs. I think I should have carried on buying really cos the music was still good.

I'm a big fan of ol' David Trousersnake so I've got quite a few of the new albums as well. Last years Good To Be Bad got rave reviews though I haven't had the time to really let it sink in yet...

A hidden gem is this one from 1997:



After Slip of the Tongue in '89-ish Coverdale kinda packed it in. This was the comeback album with Vandenberg on guitar. Quite mellow with a few rockers here and there - great album, imho, though some might have problems with it. But if you like Coverdale you'll like it, no worries.

And as it said somewhere above - nevermind the cheesy label Whitesnakes's got. That's a label used by people who only know of the 1987-album + videos. Early Whitesnake was huge back in the day - also amongst 'real' rockers.

Sure enough, they dolled it up in the late 80's but the quality playing was always there. After 1997 Coverdale and Whitesnake have been all class in my book.

I like late 70's - early/mid 80's Whitesnake, the most.

Love Hunter (1979) Live...in the Heart of the City (1980)
and Come an' Get It (1981) were pretty good hard rock albums. My personal favorites.

I love the albums mentioned of course but my fave is this one:


First got to know - and love - it with the white cover. Later I got this version too:



Imo, the Trouble album is about as hard rock as they got. Great musicianship all around.
