Hype!

A great movie about the grunge explosion. A very insightful and often funny movie. The best scene was an interview with a girl who used to be a sales rep for Subpop. She got a call from the New York Times asking for slang terms used in the grunge scene. Annoyed at the constant media requests, she made up some words on the spot (tea goggles=sunglasses) and the NYT printed the list.:heheh:

LG, I want to see 'Joy Division', but haven't managed to yet. And TheFeldster 'Nowhere Boy' is another I want to see when it comes out on DVD.

There are two really good films about JD Tracey, the documentary I posted and then another movie was made, "Control" I think it was called and Ian Curtis's wife was involved in the production as well. Sam Riley did a fantastic job playing Ian in the film.

The Doors (thought Val Kilmer was excellent as Jim Morrison)

Almost Famous - fictional comedy drama about a teenage journalist writing for Rolling Stone magazine while covering a rock band Stillwater.

Walk the Line - biographical drama film based on the life of Johnny Cash

These three movies are excellent.

If anyone hasn't seen these movies yet?

this weekend is a good time.

I forgot to add a really good biographical film about Joe Strummer, called "The Future is Unwritten", really gives you all the background about Joe and his time with the Clash, one of my all time favorite bands.

Ah yes, I was getting muddled, Control is the one I've been wanting to see, but wouldn't mind catching the other too :)
