I think Captain & Tenille is as good a place to start as any.

Even the top groups have certain songs that some people can't stand (e.g. AC/DC's "Big Balls", Led Zep's "Boogie With Stu" and Van Halen's "Ice Cream Man"), but for the most part I can't stand a lot of the A.M. radio "hits" from the 70's like "American Pie", "Seasons In The Sun" and that stupid Janis Ian song.

It just bugs me, from start to finish. Part of it is the piano. It reminds me of some crappy Springsteen tune (someone else that I can't stomach other than a couple of songs). So that's a big part of it. The chorus, the piano and that "burning you up, burning you up" gibberish at the end of song. It all reminds me of some crummy Springsteen pap. Probably the best way that i can describe it.

Another one of his popular songs that I'm not a fan of is Mainstreet. I love the vast majority of his hits from the 70s, but that one usually gets skipped when I'm listening to Bob's catalog.

It sounds like all the other shit pop songs they make these days. Not only is the music the same but they all sing with that same soulless voice. How can anyone listen to this crap?

Ask the 100 million Jay-Z and Beyonce Fans. Neither one of those two dolts has enough talent to fill a thimble, yet between them, they are worth about a billion dollars (yes, Billion with a B).



By the way, that Rhianna song sucks, but then again, I have yet to hear one that doesn't. She does have SOME vocal talent, but the piss poor songs that they hand her are nearly worthless (at least for my ears).

I'd rather listen to paint dry than listen to 99.9% of the pop music out there.
