Rod Argent Website

1970 Argent
1971 Ring of Hands
1972 All Together Now
1973 In Deep
1974 Nexus
1975 Circus / Counterpoints

Although they cracked off in 1968 their first album was not released until 1970(I think) so I put this here. They are getting together again for the High Voltage Festival this year along with E.L.P. and a host of other greats. Rod Argent is in my opinion one of the best keyboard wizzards around. I watched amazed as he ripped through the "Odessy & Oracle" celebration with the other surviving members of The Zombies at Shepherds Bush Empire. Argent made some great recordings through the 70`s and with luck seeing them this year will be another highlight for the diary.

Re: Argent

Great to see some more Argent fans, I will be looking forward to seeing them this year along with Sox and some other good Characters. I saw him with the Zombies too and saw him with Colin Bluntstone, that was amazing. Bluntstones first album is a classic and should be purchased. Argent is a master and should have a knighthood for services to music along with such greats like John Lord, Keith Emerson, and Ken Hensley. (maybe some more threads here)

Re: Argent

Yeppers, that's the album I used to own Magic. I always liked the sound of Keyboard driven bands, just a nice change from the six string guitar heroes that dominate the rock world.

Nice thread Sox.

Re: Argent

Have almost all the Argent Albums on Vinyl

Albums in order of greatness

In Deep
All Together Now
Argent
Ring Of Hands
Circus
Nexus

I don't have Counterpoints and I have never heard it.

A couple of members of Argent (Henrit, Rodford) also made an album under the name of Phoenix. I have that album too. Rodford and Henrit also went on to be members of the Kinks

Circus, Nexus, and Counterpoints are more progressive/jazz-fusion, quite different from the early Argent, but I do like these albums just as much :)

Re: Argent

I listened to the first two vids in here and I really like this bands sound! :grinthumb I especially like Liar and think it has a really original vibe to it that I haven't really heard a lot in classic rock bands! BTW, I'm not saying that classic rock isn't original but just that this song stands out to me! :D
