Bad Motor Scooter. The band Montrose were possibly the greatest 'heavy rock' band to emerge from the USA during the early 1970s.

On the other hand Foghat were formed from several ex-members of Savoy Brown and basically played blues/rock boogie most of the time although from memory they were pretty BIG in the USA during the late 1970s and into the 1980s. I recall hearing on the radio one day back in the early 2000s that 'Lonesome' Dave Peverett of both Savoy Brown & Foghat had died of cancer.

You know, Montrose's song is probably an overall better tune, but I hold deep sentimental value for Foghat's song because it was the song that introduced me to rock and roll music!

Like both tracks. Bad Motor Scooter is probably the 'technically' better track, in terms of musicianship. However, I can guarantee you that I've listened to Slow Ride hundreds more times than BMS. Something about Slow Ride has just aged very well over the ages. I like the short single version as well as the more lengthy album track. Just a fun tune from start to finish.
