Artwork for the upcoming album The Empire. Looks killer.

Great artwork. I'm looking forward to this album. Vader is one of the most consistent extreme metal bands around!

Start off from the beginning with The Ultimate Incantation. The band pretty much never change their sound but are solid right through their career.

Riff is right, they've stayed true to their sound throughout their career, but their productions do vary quite a bit and for some albums, the production could be off putting.

If I had to recommend a release to someone who wants to get acquainted with the band, I'd actually recommend the 2-CD compilation "XXV". It's a collection of re-recorded songs from earlier Vader albums, from "The Ultimate Incantation" up to "The Beast", so some of their best material, but with a top-notch production. I actually prefer some of the rerecorded versions to the classic versions.

Get the limited edition; it has a very interesting bonus DVD.

Vaders discography is full of win IMO so it's basically a pick and choose situation but two of their albums that rate highest on my list are De Profundis and Litany.

The new Vader album was another solid bit of work as usual for them although nothing I would say that spectacular. I tend to think Tibi and Morbid Reich were slightly better.
