Don't know anything about this band and wanted to look into their history and discography. Didn't realize how amazing they were and creative in their productions as well as songs. They were up there with Queen when it came to doing extreme multi-tracking of vocals. After they broke up, 2 of the members became legends in Video production working with Police and other top artists at the peak of MTV. Check out the documentary. Surprised this band doesn't have an official thread. Love the melodies/harmonies production-side of this band. Studio geeks and great songwriting. Good combination.

I was a huge fan back in the '70s. They did some great stuff. But it became obvious there were tensions in the band. On the one side you had Stewart and Gouldman who were leaning towards the more 'Pop' side of things - Gouldman had written hits for bands like The Hollies in the '60s. Godley and Creme wanted to experiment a lot more. It was never going to last. I think Graham Gouldman is still touring a version of the band, but without any of the other three.

Over the years this band have done so much, and had many different members but have still remained consistent.

I first heard them many years ago and have in the last 6 months completed my CD collection of their original studio albums. I wanted to see them for so many years as I have a lot of respect for them and finally got my wish last year. I managed to get the last ticket in the middle of the front section at one of their shows in Nottingham. They were playing sheet music in its entirety and then a mixture of their other songs and hits.

I have to say they were amazing and the band sounded awesome and they were very tight, I can live with that memory now and urge anyone who wants to see them to get a ticket before they retire for good. It is fascinating to see that the band were writing songs way before 10cc and were around in various bands so they had a lot of experience between them. This band have been around for some time with various band members in and out but are still relevant today and still sell out venues around the world, only shame is I didn't make this thread first, I will add some stuff later.

10CC were massive in the UK in the 70s ! They had tons of hit singles/albums. 4 very talented musician songwriters...there were no passengers in this band and were very original.
Heres a couple of epic 10cc tracks

Wall street shuffle / Im Mandy fly me

I like the Mandy song. Reminds me of McCartney in parts. Listening to the documentary, sounds like the guys regret their split somewhat. Alot more could've come out of their unique talents together. But, thats how life goes.

Yeah, thats fascinating. When you have a band of super talents, it can be hard to work together cause of creative differences/egos and its always a balancing act of letting others have their way sometimes. This band seems almost anti-70s cause they were not hippie types, more music nerds. I haven't heard their library but don't think i would consider them a progressive band more pop?

One of the best "studio" bands of all time in my opinion...
I have ALL of their stuff, along with ALL Godley & Creme stuff as well...
