In some ways I reckon Jim Morrison had something in common with Syd Barrett from Pink Floyd! :wtf:

From Wikipedia:

During a Doors concert on March 1, 1969, at the Dinner Key Auditorium in Miami, Florida, Morrison gave a controversial performance. The restless crowd was subjected to Morrison's lack of interest in singing songs that night, as well as to his unconventional emotional outbursts, screaming challenges to the audience, and making irreverent social statements. Unknown to the audience was Morrison's exposure to The Living Theater the week before, which influenced his performance. The confusion and taunts led to some out-of-control situations, such as Morrison allegedly exposing his penis, which resulted in an abrupt end to the show after only one hour.

At first the performance was simply seen as Morrison intoxicated beyond any saving grace, combined with his frustration over the trappings of rock stardom and his personal demons finally reaching a climax. But once a review of the show was reported in the local press on March 3, Morrison's exhibitionism took on a snowball effect in the form of a media and legal firestorm. On March 5, a warrant was issued for Morrison's arrest on charges of indecency and obscenity....

... Morrison (returned to Miami in 1970 for the trial and) took the stand on September 16, but the jury returned a guilty verdict for profanity and indecent exposure on September 20. Morrison was sentenced to eight months' custody but was allowed to go free pending an appeal. On October 30, 1970, Morrison was found guilty of two charges: profanity and indecent exposure. He was acquitted of the charge of drunkenness but found guilty of lewd behavior, a felony. The verdict was contested and Morrison died in July 1971 while his case was still on appeal.

What was curious indeed is the police officers at the concert didn't actually witness any indecent exposure. It wasn't until Jim was "tried by the press"
that politically motivated prosecutors thought to lay charges a few days later.

Coming from the way they run things here in Florida, I'm not at all surprised they had to trump up charges. This place is mostly older people from the Eisenhower day's.. The anti drug propaganda force..
If the movie depicts Morrison and how that concert went exactley, Then the cops were dicks and just wanted to cause trouble.. I mean how many newer concerts do you see with cops lined up on stage?? Really odd for them to pull that..:wtf:

That's why I've long insisted that Florida be turned back over to Spain. Just keep the gators and get rid of the rest of the thing.

Flower would argue that "Louisiana yard dogs" are much tougher than their cousins from Florida anyway:

I believe JM WAS BURNED OUT by his Warhol-NYC period....it's diff!!:):)

Warhol-NYC period? Please elaborate.

The only thing I've heard is that Jim Morrison had agreed to be the star of Andy Warhol's first porn movie, "Blue". He was supposed to bring a girl and then screw her for the cameras - but he never showed up. Silly Andy. He should have known that Jim just didn't have the work ethic to be a successful movie star.

:bonk:
