Okay, here's my five. Very difficult to pick only five.

Pink_Floyd_Animals.jpg

Pink Floyd - Animals or The Division Bell or Wish You Were Here. Any of them could count!

600.jpg

U2 - Achtung Baby The image is as busy, interesting and chaotic as the sound of the album itself.

Kula_Shaker_-_K.jpg

Kula Shaker - K Late 60's psychedelia during the 90s!

61E-tasCArL._SL500_.jpg

Led Zeppelin - IV Iconic!

Kate Bush - The Sensual World Truly sensual!

5 is hard to narrow down to since I like a ton of gory death metal covers too.

Soot, I see you reading the thread. I was gonna pick Boys For Pele too. But I decided to leave it for you instead. :heheh:

The above may not look like anything special to others but it may be my favorite cover ever. The muted, monochromatic color scheme, the tattered frame and vintage old projector image on the wall all revolving around the theme of sleep/rest may be the most peaceful, relaxing image ever. The album itself makes me feel like the cover does. That's not to say it puts me to sleep but rather it puts all my bad vibes to rest and lets me sink into a better place! :)

Brand New-The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me

I'm not going to pretend I know what this cover means but it's one that fits the album which is as intriguing as the cover is. The album cover is a mixture of darkness and innocence which seems befitting of an album that traverse everything from faith to tragedy. The album covers how ideals change with age and the singer channels many demons. In that sense, the album cover is perfect plus it makes the viewer ask or think about as many things as the album does.

The Smashing Pumpkins-Adore

This is as cool and badass of an album cover as there is to me. I'm not saying it's testosterone heavy but it has this mixture of simple Gothic imagery with something elegant at the same time. The Pumpkins have so many amazing covers but this wins it for me as I fell in love with it at first glance. Billy was at his most introspective on this album that was full of ghost of his past (one being his Mom who was written about on "For Martha)". The woman on the cover seems very supernatural and just the flowing drapery in general is very ghostly. A very well done and imo iconic cover image! :)

Fire, feather, etc.? The image has you instantly trying to figure out what it is. What it is is colorful, vibrant, eye catching cover which are all qualities that one of the best pop rock bands ever bring to their music.

Tori Amos-Hey Jupiter EP

I almost picked "From The Choirgirl Hotel" for it's submersive spiritual cover but I think this covers what I love about Tori the most. In one picture you have a woman that is so comfortable in her introspect and thoughts that she dreamily just lays there for all the world to see. Even more importantly it reflects both earthy and ethereal qualities in one picture which is a perfect mix of what Tori's music is.

Soot, a couple of things:

That Tori single cover you picked is wonderful! Such an ethereal image!

The Straylight Run cover is quite interesting. It glows! :D And what she's lying on looks like a crocodile or something. :heheh: What is that?

Thanks and I've always thought it was just a rug! :)

I love all the Roger Dean and Rodney Matthews covers, like

but I'm not particularly a fan of the bands that have those covers. Out of my album collection these would be amongst my favourites

11bnkia.jpg
O'Brother - Garden Window

4ikdhk.jpg
Mastodon - Blood Mountain

fcpdo0.jpg
Kate Bush - The Dreaming

Nightwish - Oceanborn

I only have one album by Sonata Arctica - heck I took a chance and bought that album purely because I loved the artwork! - but all their covers appeal to me in a big way, especially this one
