Am I the only person who pretty much hates Metallica?

Morbid Saint had some pretty harsh vocals. I don't see why its important to hear the lyrics in music this extreme. Perhaps poor example using Bathory but how about Overkill? Oh and Bathory best stuff was what he did from 1986-1990 IMHO. Also a lot of these bands were around before or at the same time as Metallica.

This came out the same year as Kill em all. Its considered punk but it shares a lot of elements with thrash. Its heavier, faster, and much catchier than Kill em all.

Antisect?

Humm....it is WAY heavier. Too heavy for me.

Ok....I can follow you with Overkill. A lot cleaner vocals. Horrorsope is not bad.

I love the Years of Decay myself. I love Metal but the Punk, Industrial, Electronic, and Noise groups were ahead in terms of brutality. Would've loved if thrash bands took some influence from Power Electronics.

Hearing vocals is an important thing when it comes to if people can get into the music. Not everyone can handle the growls or screaming vocals extreme music can offer. Just have to accept not everyone will see it the same way. The rough sounding vocals don't appeal to everyone.

Were talking about thrash metal. Its not supposed to be pretty. Also being more accessible doesn't make something better. Besides AC/DC is a very mainstream band with an arguably harsh vocalist who you could barely understand yet they are well accepted.

This is going nowhere. In the end just respect that other people like different things to you and not everyone will dig the same vocal style that others do. I can easily understand AC/DC vocals.

Wasn't trying to have an argument dude just a bit of chatter. I never said that nobody could like Metallica or had to like the same things I do. I have been criticized for not kissing ass when it comes to Metallica, Slayer, and Iron Maiden though. I just feel in some ways these bands are more praised for their status and impact than the quality of their music and consistency.

Its not about not kissing ass or whatever. I think most fans of those bands praise them for their ability and not for their status. I think there are fans who probably put bands on a pedestal unnecessarily but I won't tar all with that brush. I would say media probably have more to blame for that than the fans.

Easy now, no reason to drag Maiden into this :gig

As far as James' voice he's always said he can't sing and Lars can't drum.

I second that notion. I have nothing but good things to say about Maiden
