Re: Saxon

Anytime a band tries to reorganize and change thier sound, it somehow detracts from the band. From their discography list, they weren't set back for long, though. I now have their 2009 "Into the Labyrinth"

I will catch up with you, LG, on sorting me out :heheh:

Re: Saxon

I remember an Uncle of mine giving me his copy of Strong Arm Of The Law. Heavy Metal Thunder is a great opening song and statement.

Re: Saxon

That is a great song, they have done soooo many over the years. I think I will invite the boys over later and have a few beers and play Crusader and then Solid Ball Of Rock.:hab:

Re: Saxon

Did I hear someone say Crusader?:D

its a really cool song, I burnt out on it a bit a couple years ago I have their discography, a friend ripped em from their cd's.... Does anyone else find the production to not be so great?

Re: Saxon

It varies, Strong Arm of the Law was really well engineered,,,and some others are not up to that standard I agree. The last two "The Inner Sanctum", and "Into the Labyrinth" are Great! Both song wise and production value.

Still when I play Saxon I like them, I could say the same about some Maiden albums as well, but the music makes up the difference for me.:D

Re: Saxon

I didn't like the songs on the last two, I so I never payed much attention to the production on those, I thought the production on the first four albums was good enough, not anything to make me not listen to it, but nothing special, Power and The Glory, and Crusader sounded really good(if I'm remembering correctly), I didn't like all that many songs on those albums, but I was impressed with the overall sound, then the last bunch through the 90s were a bit lame song wise and production wise.... I'll take your word for it on the last 2 LG, I haven't listened to them for a while

I like Saxon better than maiden:wtf:
and I like Maiden's first album best with that first singer, I can't remember his name, D'iano or something?
