Is Country or Southern Rock better?

I prefer Southern Rock (Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackfoot, The Eagles, Molly Hatchet, Allman Brothers, ect.) over Today's Country... BUT if you meant Classic Country, I would have chose that, Classic Country Dolly Parton

The Eagles are in no way Southern Rock of any kind in my opinion. I'd pretty much list them as Classic Rock or just simply Rock when it gets down to it. I did list the Country of Dolly Parton too by the way.

Have to disagree,but that's okay Shania isn't country and neither her or Taylor are good.But then again I am not their target audience

Kid Rock's last two albums are more country than Taylor Swift

Kid Rock, whether considered Country or not now, is pretty much just crap. Taylor Swift blows him away and Kid Rock, if you'd actually consider him a new transition artist into Country, is trying too hard at it while failing miserably. Perhaps his first Album (and maybe even his 2nd one) was somewhat interesting though. Oh well. To each his own.

It's also kinda strange seeing Southern Rock up there as the top vote so far, considering the fact that this is the Country part of this Forum after all. This Forum maybe should've labeled this as the Country/Southern Rock section then, ya know? Just a thought.

My apologies, my goof up there XD, I meant in the beginning, The Eagles are/were classified as Southern Rock/Country Rock (Those two may be two different things, I do not know.). Again sorry about the confusion, I made it sound like all the band has ever been is Southern Rock XD . Their songs "Take It Easy", "Peaceful Easy Feeling" and their whole album "Desperado" definitely show off their Country Rock/Southern Rock beginnings.

I don't mean to drag this on, but I guess it is just me that thinks the Eagles' early stuff sounds a bit Country Rock if not Southern Rock. Oh well, it is all good . Like Ragged Glory said earlier, to each his own. I mean no disrespect towards any one, I guess I am just a bit shocked that no one hears/feels the same I guess . But hey that is life . I love the Eagles,I just never thought of them as Southern Rock.
