I could not find any videos from this album and I was not going to insult you with videos from The Last Waltz or The Basement Tapes but you can listen to "Before The Flood" here: "Before The Flood" / The Band`s Home Page. Bob said he did n`t like this tour, he thought that he was just playing a part, sort of a characterization of himself.....Well is that not what all entertainers do? Despite what Bob thinks, this is a great live album and deserves a worthy spot in your collection! ~G~

Looks like they were playing mostly Dylan songs. That might be interesting to check out! Thanks for the post!

Love the track listing, looks like a great set of songs. I am not a huge fan of live albums though, with some exceptions of course. I'll listen to it online before making any final determination just to be fair.

Another well done informative review Garrett, my compliments.

Not as good as ''The Last Waltz'', imo...but still a pretty good live album.

A must have if you're a fan of The Band and Dylan!

There's hardly any Dylan videos on you tube...record company pulled them all! :mad

Re: Bob Dylan and The Band / Before The Flood

This is strange...I logged on specifically to ask if anyone had an opinion on this album, and immediately saw a thread somebody else had started on it. Anyway, I am contemplating this purchase. They are two of my favorites, so I already have plenty of live material from both artists, specifically Live 1966 (The Royal Albert Hall Concert), Rock of Ages, and The Last Waltz. How does this compare to those albums? Better, worse, different? Worth getting on top of those? Any advice would be appreciated.

This sounds like a great album. Does Dylan feature on The Band songs and Visa-versa?

This is what Wiki says:

"Sides one and four are performances by Bob Dylan and The Band; side two and tracks four through six on side three are by The Band; tracks one through three on side three by Dylan alone."

If my memory serves me correctly, Bob Dylan used Jimi Hendrix's arrangement of All Along the Watchtower for this performance. Needless to say, Jimi's version is amazing.
