Well it looked as if we didn't have an Official Def Leppard thread but we do now!! Here is a thread where all Def Leppard fans can post and talk about their favorite albums, songs, concerts and whatever else sparks our Leppard moods.

What some casual fans may not know, is that Def Leppard started off as a NWOBHM band....yup...right up there with Iron Maiden, Saxon, Angel Witch, Raven and all the other greats that came out at the time.

Over the years, they became a power pop metal band and the kings of the power ballad to boot!! I decided to kick this thread off by going back to those wonderful NWOBHM years and watch how it all grows from there, between all of us here. Have fun...and LET'S GET ROCKED!!!!

I like all their albums up to and including Adrenalize. Nothing since then has impressed me at all.

I have such FOND memories when these guys first came out. I was like a Freshman in high school and they were just as heavy as anything going at the time. I thought their first album was amazing. On Through The Night

I like their first album, but it was the next three that became permanent fixtures on the soundtrack of my life.

1981 - High 'n' Dry
1983 - Pyromania
1987 - Hystera

A trifecta of near-perfection. while they did go from grittier to more glossed-over and radio-friendly rock during that time, I can't say anything bad about any of those 3 albums.

I gotta get High And Dry out again sometime soon. Yeah that was a HUGE high school album right there....man...everyone was listening to that...wearing the T-shirts for that album.

Even people that didn't like Leppard I think too. :heheh: :grinthumb

my favorite 3 is the first 3 which includes on through the night and which has rock brigade and imo is one of the best metal songs ever.

Hysteria while its a good album is way over produced in sound. It is a great album but at the same time a sign of what would become a way too much commercialised sound after Adrenalize.
