Coming off the heels of the awesome surprise of an actual Soul talent in Emili Sande comes another one even more unique. Lianne goes from edgy to quirky to deep sultry gorgeous Soul from one song to the next. While Emili is more of a vocalist and may just have the higher range I believe that Lianne has more artistic range. I've seen Emili play piano but Lianne seems to have her guitar always with her. She reminds me of a soulful Nellie McKay at times and in her most soulful range just bliss. Between style and musicianship this is one more notch on the new modern Soul movements belt! Here's the debut album:

Forget
(Funk meets Soul meets Alternative Rock)

Lost and Found
(Wow! Sad never sounded so sultry and sexy! Remiscent of Des'ree on "Missing You", just a beautiful tone and melody)

Age
(quirky vintage old soul style)

No Room For Doubt
(jazzy classy duet)

I love the genuine beauty of this natural performance. She as well as her friend just make these harmonies seem so effortless and you can tell that they are truly music fans.

Lost & Found, Gone and Tease Me really stood out to me, oh and Forget is pretty quirky/funky fun jaja, but overall I'd say this album is pretty good. Another great recommendation here Soots  :D

That was a pretty smooth tune there too. Sounds like a small intimate crowd. This type of music is the type that sounds best in the middle of the night...like me right now working and all....just to chill to.

Rolling Stone has a pretty accurate description of Lianne in this review:

Lianne La Havas-Is Your Love Big Enough Rolling Stone Review

"I found myself in a secondhand guitar," sings London chanteuse Lianne La Havas on the title track of her debut album. That's not idle talk. La Havas, just 22, is a natural who uses her six-string acoustic and her husky R&B croon to create songs that fall winningly between categories: part Bill Withers-esque neo-soul, part Bon Iver-style indie folk, with punchier beats than you'd expect and welcome detours into Sade's plush bedroom. There are surprises: jazz chords that seep into wintry folk ballads; come-ons that double as threats. The lyrics dwell on troubled romance, but the cool, pretty, expertly arranged music washes over you like a healing wave.

The Bill Withers comparison would've been a huge hook to listen if I hadn't already discovered the album. :) This track is becoming another highlight for me:
