For all the time you've been a member here, what's been your best find...and if you can remember, who introduced you to the artist?

My greatest discovery is probably Barclay James Harvest. They may have the most unsexy name in the music biz but they are a really cool act that I immediately liked once I heard 'Rock N' Roll Star.' So many great songs from this band, I'm just amazed that I didn't discover them until just recently. I'll thank Nobolob for starting that thread.

Honorable mention goes to The Tarney Spencer Band who I've been listening to lately on YouTube. 'Run For Your Life' is my favorite new song this month. Credit to Fever for posting that one.

Muse, thanks to Tray.

Rory Gallagher... Nolo and Sox.

I'll think of more later. :)

So far anyway I am going to say Rush given the numerous recommendations I received from people.

Jake T has been posting some Spooky Tooth tracks, which had passed me by, in his journal.

I like the sound of that Tarney Spencer Band. Alan Tarney has always seemed an overlooked genius to me, while others took the credit for his work.

You're welcome! :grinthumb

Most of the bands in here I knew already, but didn't pay much attention. The only one I can think of is Steppenwolf, when I played Screaming Night Hog posted by Slip. Also he introduced Robin Trower to me, at first I wasn't really much impressed, but now I'm more like "woah!".

Yup, Trower is another I discovered through Slip, though I haven't explored him much outside of Bridge of Sighs. :uh:

Another one is Rush. I knew who they were before CRF, just never gained enough interest to explore them by myself. I think LG got me liking them, and now I have (I think) 7 or 8 of their albums. :grinthumb

I checked out Rory Gallagher based on people talking about him here. Plus, I'm a very big fan of Irish art.

He's pretty phenomenal.

Also, these forums have gotten me to reconsider a few bands that I've dismissed in the past, like Led Zeppelin, Queen, and post-Barrett Pink Floyd.
