1. Reckoning Day
2. Train of Consequences
3. Addicted to Chaos
4. A Tout Le Monde
5. Elysian Fields
6. The Killing Road
7. Blood of Heroes
8. Family Tree
9. Youthanasia
10. I Thought I Knew It All
11. Black Curtains
12. Victory

Released a couple of years after the successful Countdown to Extinction it seemed Megadeth wanted to continue the focus on rhythm, groove and not so fast paced as the likes of Rust in Peace.

The first 3 tracks are fairly slowish to medium paced in groove and pretty thrashy in the actual guitar work. I love the riffs particularly of Reckoning Day. Train of Consequences and Addicted to Chaos have featured on many live sets and are solid tracks as well.

A Tout Le Monde sets for the intro a nice quiet atmosphere before it kicks in. Was a controversial song in the sense that MTV had banned it misinterpreting it to be about suicide. I love this song, nice melody to it. Megadeth have under rated ballads.

Elysian Fields, The Killing Roads and Blood of Heroes are three solid and enjoyable songs to listen to. As stated this is an album not of the Rust in Peace speed and intensity but for me these songs are under rated. Very nice groovy yet retaining a thrash metal formula in the mix.

Family Tree another controversial song that talks about incest rape. I enjoy the song though and I found it took real balls for Mustaine to actually put this song on the album. Another under rated song.

The rest from Youthanasia down to Victory are also very solid tunes, the only one I would say I wasn't big on is Black Curtains.

Overall I think this album deserves around an 7-8 out of 10. Very solid album.

My favourite songs on this album.

The Killing Road

Addicted to Chaos

Family Tree

Just got into this album, I have to say it's amazing and definitely one of the best metal albums I've heard.

Only just picked up this album last year, been listening to it a lot recently. My favourites from it are A Tout Le Monde, Addicted To Chaos, Blood Of Heroes and Family Tree.
I'd be interested to know what you think of the reworking of A Tout Le Monde with Cristina Scabbia, Riff? I love both versions but think Cristina adds that certain extra something :)

Apart from Cristina I don't like the reworking. It sounds too radio friendly and sped up. Youthanasia version would have been better with her back up vocals.

I know you've been on my MEGADETH G.H. ALBUMS thread & I just landed on this one. Incase you or anyone else didn't see my 80 minute list (of Megadeth's best songs) I will post what "Youthanasia" songs I listed here...

(In My Album's Order)

1. "Youthanasia."
2. "Addicted To Chaos."
3. "Blood Of Heroes."
4. "Train Of Consequences."
5. "A Tout Le Monde."

I really like "The Killing Road" & "Elysian Fields" as well as "Black Curtains" & "Reckoning Day." Hell, the whole album's quite good. That's why 5 of 20 songs are easily on my list.

You pick out great tunes there. I enjoy this album being much slower in tempo and a bit of a darker guitar tone as well. :)

^ Thanks for the compliments, but if you know me somewhat yet, you'd know that I'm a pretty big Megadeth fan. You & I both love "Rust" & could probably discuss the band for days one song/album after the other. Keep it up.

I wouldn't have a problem with that, the more enthusiastic Megadeth fans the better. :grinthumb
