The first 4 Deicide albums are must owns for any death metal fan. Self titled, Legion, Once Upon The Cross and Serpents Of The Light.

Re: Deicide

their first two albums are classics. listening to them right now actually. the way I found out about em was watching a pantera video a few years ago and seeing Phil with a Deicide shirt on. Checked em out. Heavy heavy, The whole satanic shit makes me laugh, but no denying the talent.

Re: Deicide

Glen Benton is a bit of a whack who I find a bit annoying and stupid with his upside down cross craved in his forehead, his boasting about torturing animals etc. but the first two are undeniably great death metal albums.
The rest of the discography is hit an miss IMO..

Re: Deicide

I doubt its really just a put on, death metal bands like Mayhem have done far worse. After Serpents for me is when Deicide became hit or miss.

Well idk. Some bands do it for show and others are dead serious. Church Burnings and murder are pretty wild and are obviously all pretty serious unless someone is that twisted to just do it ****ing around. Glen burned a crucifix into his head and desecrated churches. Oh and the phone calls to a religious man. Oh and can't forget his exaggeration that he was gonna kill himself on stage, but never did it. Seems more like its put on more than anything. Kinda think if he was serious he would do something a bit more extreme then the shit he did.
I just find it hard to fathom the beliefs lol. Seems childish to me.

Re: Deicide

It is pretty stupid to be honest, I only really care for their music.
