Late 80's/early 90's Queensryche were my favourite band, I was so blown away with Operation: Mindcrime when it was released I went out and bought their back catalogue on vinyl, but after Empire my passion for the band just petered out. I've not heard the whole of Dedicated to Chaos but what I have heard, well lets just say it does nothing for me and makes me mourn for a once great band.

They went downhill after Empire and, as has been said, worse still when Chris De Garmo left. Operation: Mindcrime II was horrible and trampled over the considerable reputation of one of the most creative and compelling LPs of the 80's.

Probably is time to give up if it's as bad as the review is painting it to be.

^^I didn't mind them doing Mindcrime II...but it was recorded after DeGarmo left if I remember correctly. They did record it in the same studio with identical equipment to maintain the coherent sound of the first one. It's not as good as the first one I can't deny that, but I enjoy playing it and it does finish the story.

I enjoyed Promised Land and Hear in the Now Frontier, but I think Hear is where it truly was starting to go downhill and after it. Have yet to hear Mindcrime II however so I can't really judge that one, I will seek that one out and give it a listen.

I like that one as well, saw them tour off it. And yeah, it was just 2 releases ago, American Solider, and Dedicated, being the two they have released since MCII. DeGarmo was long gone and it wasn't as good as the first one but still the best thing they have done since Empire. It was awesome watching the first one, OMC, and the second, OMC II, preformed live. RDJ even did a guest spot live here in L.A..

Frequency Unknown makes this album sound good. That was just as big a pile of dogshit as Dedicated To Chaos was.
