It's official!

LINK: Van Halen Announces 2012 Tour Dates

Van Halen‘s long-awaited full-length new album reunion with original frontman David Lee Roth is finally officially a reality. As soon as we got back from tonight’s New York City club show, confirmation of the band’s new album title and their 2012 tour plans arrived in our inbox.

As we reported on Thursday afternoon, the band’s new album — set to be released Feb. 7 — will be called ‘A Different Kind of Truth,’ because, as singer David Lee Roth said, “Van Halen lives in a different kind of truth.” Pretty much no one can argue with that.

The band promises to mix songs from the new album with classic tracks such as ‘Panama,’ ‘Ain’t Talking About Love’ and ‘Everybody Wants Some’ during these concerts. Somebody tell us where we write in to get ‘Drop Dead Legs’ added to that list, huh?

The tour will kick off on Feb. 18 in Louisville, KY and hopscotch across the country before wrapping up in New Orleans, LA on June 26. Tickets go on sale for select shows starting Jan. 14. OK, we’re gonna go back to blasting ‘Fair Warning’ now!

So... is this really really truly going to happen!? :grinthumb

Van Halen followed up their intimate concert at Cafe Wha? in New York's West Village by unveiling the dates for their upcoming reunion tour. Along with the official tour date announcement, a tracklisting for their upcoming studio album "A Different Kind of Truth" was revealed as well.

The band are set to kick off the traveling show on February 18 this year with Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen, David Lee Roth and Wolfgang Van Halen on the lineup. According to MelodicRock which was picked up by Van Halen News Desk, the new album is going to feature a total of 13 tracks including "She's the Woman" which was performed at the Cafe Wha?.

During the tour, the band will take fans to get acquainted with their new songs by performing selections from the album. Also, they will get nostalgic by filling the setlist with a number of fans' old favorites like "Eruption," "Running With the Devil", "Everybody Wants Some," "Unchained", "Beautiful Girls", "Jump" and "Hot for Teacher".

The heavy metal band will stay on the road at least until June 26. They will have R&B act Kool & the Gang supporting them on some select dates. Tickets for some of the shows, which will be their first road show with Roth since their 2008 short-lived reunion, are going to be made available for purchase starting January 14.

I don't know What the F Kool & The Gang is doing opening for them. That's a very strange combo. But I'll take it (as I have always been a K&G fan)

The prices here start at $130.00+, for a seat in front of the stage it's about $680.00 and the most expensive tickets are $860.00.
