Clarence Gatemouth Brown opened for Eric on the From The Cradle Tour and was amazing which meant Eric had to go to town and when he pulls out he is worthy of his status as one of the greatest ever. I came away from that gig realising just how good he is.

Eric Clapton is probably my favorite guitarist of all time.

Next would be Jerry Garcia, but that's another thread.

Eric Clapton can and has played it all. From all styles of the blues to rock to pop to psychedelic rock to country to hard rock to reggae, and even jazz. He's the humble master of the guitar.

I have everything Eric Clapton has ever recorded. Every solo album, every Yarbirds, John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Delaney and Bonnie and Friends and Derek and the Dominos albums.

I'm a really big fan of Clapton's solo albums. Sure, he put a few not so perfect solo albums over the last 40 years as a solo artist, but so have other greats such as Jeff Beck, Paul McCartney, Neil Young and Bob Dylan.

Since 1980, I've seen Eric Clapton about 20 times. I love Eric Clapton. He's such a humble man and he seems like a real nice genuine guy and not a ''rock star''. Clapton is probably one of the most respect musicians in the business.

Here's two great videos:

Further On Up The Road - Eric Clapton and George Harrison.

Too bad this video clip is too short, you get a nice shot of the crowd going crazy, and Clapton rips a nice solo!

''Tore Down'' this is HOT!

Clapton and George nice!! I like Clapton and have seen him live, he is good and can play that guitar, I do think he is one of the greatest ever. He has played with them all and has done so much for music, the guitar work in this classic is fantastic, where does he get them from?

I love Clapton but only seen him once & that was in the early 80's & he was incredible as was his back-up band. Of course I love just about everything he's released but the one album I really love is the double live 'Just One Night' as it has all my favorites including a great version of my favorite Clapton tune"Blues Power"

I saw him live once.

He had an awesome backing band which included Doyle Bramhall II and Derek Trucks :D Was fantastic.

Brought the house down with Layla, Cocaine was the encore. The only problem was he refused to play Tears In Heaven :( But his old hits got a great run that night :D

Everything Clapton's released, I like :D

Great live album. The live version ''Blues Power'' from Just One Night is awesome. Clapton's solo towards the end is jammin' - it's friggin' remarkable!

Turn it up LOUD for full effect!

Clapton for over the last 10 years or so, has let his band shine and take solos. It's more a band thing nowadays. When I first saw Clapton, he did most of the solos, - nowadays he shares them, it might have to do with his age, and him being the humble gifted musician he is. But for those who haven't seen him, yeah he does MORE than the bulk of the solos and does them well - so go see Eric!

I think I read somewhere, Clapton said he was retiring ''Tears In Heaven'' and won't be performing it any longer. I personally think the song was a blessing and a curse. It's a beautiful song, but some non-fans, unfairly labeled Clapton as going soft, but those are the people who don't really know Clapton too well. I personally, would rather hear something else in concert, than ''Tears In Heaven'' - it's not one of my favorite EC songs. But still, a very touching song - but give me ''Blues Power''!!!
