Even though “the boss” doesn’t require an introduction, here’s one anyway (taken from Wikipedia):
Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen (born September 23, 1949), is an American singer-songwriter. He records and tours with the E Street Band. Springsteen is widely known for his brand of heartland rock infused with pop hooks, poetic lyrics, and Americana sentiments centered on his native New Jersey.
Springsteen's recordings have tended to alternate between commercially accessible rock albums and somber folk-oriented works. Much of his status stems from the concerts and marathon shows in which he and the E Street Band perform intense ballads, rousing anthems, and party rock and roll songs, amongst which he intersperses whimsical or deeply emotional stories.
His most famous albums Born to Run and Born in the U.S.A., epitomize his penchant for finding grandeur in the struggles of daily life in America. He has gradually become identified with liberal politics. He is also noted for his support of various relief and rebuilding efforts in New Jersey and elsewhere, and for his response to the September 11th attacks on which his album The Rising reflects.
He has earned numerous awards for his work, including nineteen Grammy Awards, two Golden Globes and an Academy Award, and continues to have a strong global fan base. He has sold more than 65 million albums in the United States and 120 million worldwide.

We all know him, most of us like him... Maybe you don't? Then tell us why?

If you do like him, which albums do you like exactly? Because, although Wiki states his most "famous" albums, those aren't the only ones I like best myself...

:) Hell, I couldn't narrow it down to 2 albums at all...
There's Born To Run, his third album... with all those different influences in it... I read once that it was his first commercial success, and I absolutely understand why... Songs like born to run and thunder road tend to end up high in my all time favourite lists...

Following that he made Darkness on the edge of town which was highly underrated in my opinion... :) That one sure as hell is, for me personally, one of his best albums...

We cant forget The river either...

Following up are Nebraska, Born in the USA and tunnel of love :) All on my "best albums by Bruce" list also... That man just made 5 great albums (from 1975 to 1987), one after the other, as if it didn't take any effort...

Aside from his 5-streak great albums I also listen to The Ghost of Tom Joad alot..
Mikal Gilmore of Rolling Stone called it "Springsteen's best album in ten years," and considered it "among the bravest work that anyone has given us this decade."
I agree. It was one of his better works in a while... New, fresh and eager to be liked.

And then there is The Rising... Love that one also :)

:D Sooo! Which albums do you like best ??????? Because I tend to like alot of them practically...

Re: Bruce springsteen and his carreer/albums.

I'm only familiar with The Born in the USA album which I haven't heard in a long time. It has some great songs on it though, but Born in the USA just don't cut it for me anymore which is a shame cause I only have it on tape and it's a matter of winding though the songs one doesn't want to hear! Perhaps it should of had Born To Run on it instead? :bonk:

Glory Days, Radio No Where, and Working On a Dream are great Bruce songs.

Love Springsteen. I'm not so much into his latter day material, but have everything up through Born in the U.S.A. .

My favorites are his frist three albums, Greetings from Asbury Park, E Street Shuffle, and Born to Run. I think I like those one's the best because of the unique sound of the music, and the detailed storytelling of the lyrics. songs like Lost in the flood, Jungleland, Incident on 57th Street.

Another one that grew on me as my taste matured is Nebraska. Lot of great acoustic tunes.:grinthumb

E Street Radio is one of most frequently listened to stations on sirius radio.

Re: Bruce Springsteen

I really like his energetic balls out rocker stuff like the whole Born To Run album and most of Born in the USA occasionally I sometimes like some of the slower acoustic-y stuff, but its not my favorite, I'd love to see him live though

Couldn't have said it better Eberg, you mentioned my two favorite albums by far, I am not a big fan of his acoustic material.

He leaves everything on the table when he performs live, over 3 hours of all out rock and roll, legendary in the music world, I hope you do get to see him live.

Haven't heard Streets of Philadelphia in yonks - I remember my Dad having the Cassette single of it, I think at first I didn't really care much for the song cause I was a teen still growing up, though the song just grew on me after that, even if it's a bit of a sad song.
