Tommy Shaw being Koss? Really? Are people voting for the popular name? Shaw couldn't hold a candle to this. Koss' vibrato was and still is untouchable.

The poll voting is popularity based, and Styx is a pretty popular group. Not that Free isn't, but not everyone is as Free/Bad Co. biased as you are. You thought Shaw would be easily beaten?

I thought he would if people voted based on guitar playing and not popularity but that does happen. Jimmy Page wins a lot of these things and he isn't the best by a long shot so I guess I kinda expected it a little bit.

^^^ No one can define "best", there are simply the musicians with the most prolific work that appeal to more people and have left a bigger impact on the music industry.

Voting based on actual ability to play guitar and level of the skill is based on popularity in 70%-80% IMO. Everybody will vote for Randy Rhoads or Glenn Tipton just because people know from others how talented they are and in what bands they played.
