I figured this would be a nice sister thread to the one about songs. Of course there are some overplayed songs (like Dream On and Sweet Home Alabama) that stations never bother touching anything else from the same album. But how about those albums that are played so much ad nauseum on the classic stations that you wonder if its one of five discs that stay in a permanent changer. Only one album per artist and multiple votes allowed.

I think Boston's self-titled album is played the hell out of. I also find Moving Pictures to be overplayed out of all of Rush's albums. But hey, it doesnt bother me that much cause both those albums are amazing...

Voted for AC/DC only. I would also add Sabbath's Paranoid. They made more good songs, not only Paranoid and Iron Man (and War Pigs).

I voted for Boston and Zeppelin. There were others I would have voted for if it was for a different album. For example, I would list "The Wall" as Pink Floyd's third most overplayed album, behind "Dark Side of the Moon" and "Wish You Were Here".

I only voted for GNR's "Appetite of Destruction". Every time I tune in to a Classic Rock station "Welcome to the Jungle", "Sweet Child O' Mine", "Paradise City" or some other song from that album is being played.

Between my left and right speakers...
Stairway To Heaven, Black Dog, Rock And Roll, Misty Mountain Hop, When The Levee Breaks... I hear those five songs alone all the time. So I voted on Zeppelin's untitled fourth album.

But I love them all so I don't care if they're overplayed.:D

I went with Zep though.

I voted for Bruce Springsteen "Born in the USA". It seem like everytime I turn on the radio either the title track, Glory Days, or I'm On Fire are playing.

Almost voted for Led Zep IV, since Stairway To Heaven is way overplayed, but not so much the other songs on that album.

REALLY!? Good God, if I NEVER heard Rock and Roll, Black Dog or Going To California ever again in my life, it'd be too damn soon. Each of these gets more airplay than Stairway.

For me, the following are far and away the most overplayed albums:

Most overplayed albums on Classic Rock stations?
Led Zeppelin - IV
U2 - The Joshua Tree
Pearl Jam - Ten
Rush - Moving Pictures
Boston - Boston
Bruce Springsteen - Born In The USA

I don't know so much about Pearl Jam anymore since I don't really listen to any stations that would play it, but from like 1992 to 2005, you couldn't go a day without hearing a song or two off of that album. :banghead:
