Re: Gotthard

Domino Effect was released in 2007. Here's a few from that album I really like.

Re: Gotthard

I'm going to back up now all the way to their fantastic 1992 debut S/T album Gotthard. It was a great piece of Euro hard rock with attitude and some really great performances and songs such as the classic tunes Firedance and Downtown.

BTW the band took their name from the 'famous' Gotthard Pass (a high mountain pass in Switzerland). But the inverted T in the logo – and the remaining letters "GOT HARD" – alludes to an erect penis!! :heheh:

:oyea: Oh thanks for that last fun fact! It is kind of cool, though! :oyea:

Re: Gotthard

1994's Dial Hard is another superb album and among their hardest. Some of the most powerful vocals Steve Lee ever recorded. Damn I'm gonna miss him.

Re: Gotthard

1996 saw the release of Gotthard's third album, simply titled G. Their self-titled debut was good, and Dial Hard was even better, but G is a near-flawless melodic rock album. G remains one of Gotthard's best releases, and is one of my absolute favorite melodic rock albums. :grinthumb

In red -- now that says a lot! I downed and listened to some Tora Tora yesterday seeing as several of you comment on them, and today I'll look for Gotthard (or did I already...Yes, I think I DID! And to no avail - darn. :wa Will look again...)

Wow, I am just now finding out about Gotthard. A friend of mine in Edinburgh has been discussing them and just today we got around to chatting and trading videos to check out on You Tube. I am completely blown away by this band. Then I come to find out about Steve Lee passing on in a motorcycle accident which I consider beyond tragic. Another friend of ours happened to see the accident scene at the time. I hope the other band members can find another singer (not an easy task I'm sure) and carry on as I can see in the videos they are quite talented, not to mention rocking the Gibson guitars!
