Gotthard Official Website

Steve Lee - Vocals (Deceased 1963-2010)
Nic Maeder - vocals
Leo Leoni - Guitar
Freddy Scherer - Guitar
Marc Lynn - Bass
Hena Habegger - Drums

Gotthard is a Swiss melodic hard rock band I like a lot. Formed in Lugano by Steve Lee and Leo Leoni, their last eleven albums have all reached number 1 in the Swiss album charts, making them one of the most successful Swiss acts ever.

Sadly, singer/frontman Steve Lee was killed in a freak motorcycle accident on October 5, 2010 in Nevada.
The band has vowed to carry on and are currently looking for a replacement.

Albums

Gotthard (1992)
Dial Hard (1994)
G. (1996)
Open (1999)
Homerun (2001)
Human Zoo (2003)
Lipservice (2005)
Domino Effect (2007)
Need to Believe (2009)
Firebirth (2012)

With a nearly 20 year career, 9 studio albums and several live and compilation releases, I though I would start with one of my personal favorites, 2005's Lipservice. Most songs are up-tempo and I haven’t heard Lee and co. playing tighter (on a studio album) ever. Great album!

All We Are

Dream On

Anytime Anywhere

They are also a very good live band and do a fantastic cover of Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song!

And another personal favorite... Said And Done.

Re: Gotthard

I have three of their albums, but not Lipservice...I read about their singer dying and that's too bad. Hopefully they find a good replacement and carry on.

Re: Gotthard

You introduce some of us to yet another very interesting band, Tunez. I don't know how you do it - you must not sleep!

I especially like Anytime, Anywhere. Good music, great tempo - good song to dance or exercise to, and good lyrics (though somewhat pessimistic, but life gets that way sometimes) - "...the great pretender...". Feels like it could be the tune for a TV show or movie.

Not a lot, no. :heheh:

Re: Gotthard

Great band, it's a real shame Steve Lee had to leave us so early, guy had a killer set of pipes. One of the few lads I've ever seen/heard do "Child in Time" justice!

Re: Gotthard

Killer band with some awesome ballads. I have several of their albums, but my favorite album is:

I had this video in my profile for quite a while, I love this song ( want this song played at my funeral)
