Some good follow ups in here...and a little controversy.
First I don't think there is anything to get upset about on either party, EF can say he thinks it is irrelevant from his point of view, he did not intend anything personal towards you Joe, just thought the poll itself was questionable.(I have deleted some of my less than fabulous threads over the years myself.)
I was a little confused at first what Joe was driving at when I read the OP yesterday morning, but I was still asleep at that point, I should have waited till the coffee kicked in before posting my comment.
I am hoping both of you, Joe and EF, just relax, you are both intelligent guys and valuable members here and life is too short to get hung up on small things, at least it is for me.
Back to Joe's original question,,,if you had posted Iron Maiden then I might have gotten it right off, but I have never really considered Metallic a progressive kind of band so that kind of threw me off.
For pure progressive rock influences, I still would have picked IQ, Marillion, and PT as the definitive bands leading the neo-prog movement. But I will acknowledge that Maiden does possess some prog qualities as well.
I am awake right now so that makes it easy to sort this one out.
