Michael Kevin Taylor, Mick .. born 1949 Hertfordshire England. Best known for his work with John Mayall's Blues Breakers and The Rolling Stones before going his own way forging a solo career. A brilliant musician with an incredibly subtle touch. He had a mountain to climb following Eric Clapton and Peter Green two revered guitar players and then Brian Jones another superstar musician. His skill and reliability paid off and IMO he has graced some of the finest albums ever made. I was lucky enough to see Mick with John Mayall and Stan Webb a few years ago and had a brilliant night watching and listening to three greats. :cheers2

Gotta love Mick Taylor's guitar playing, either solo or with The Rolling Stones or with John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers.

Here's one from Mick Taylor on lead vocals from his first solo record...

Leather Jacket (1979)

And how about the gem from the Stones with Mick Taylor burning it up on slide guitar on Silver Train...

^^Great stuff GM, Mick is a great player with some deft touches. Mick Jagger has said how he sometimes misses the input that Mick Taylor gave. I also read that Johnny Marr cites Taylor as one of his favourite players esp. his work on "Crusade" with John Mayall.

And here he is with Jack Bruce..:grinthumb

Great Stuff indeed!! Taylor is one great guitarist. He plays guitar on Bob Dylan's 'Real Live' album from the 80's & I really like the record for Taylors guitar work. The way his guitar work sounds on Highway 61 off that album sounds like it should be on Get Yer Ya Ya's out. Dylan's voice may not be in the greatest form on the record but Taylor's guitar work sure is

I am sure I read somewhere that Dylan was quite a fan of Mick's guitar work rtbuck.

Leather Jacket was an unreleased instrumental track recorded during a live session at Trident Studios in late 1969, when he was with The Stones.

I always thought that Mick Taylor was an underrated guitarist and The Stones were at their best when he played with them.

Back in the 80's I saw John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers open up for B.B. King where Mick came out and jammed with the Bluesbreakers on Red House. A great show to say the least.

I see that there's an upgraded version of Jack Bruce on the O.G.W.T. in '75.
I picked it up on video years ago and the quality wasn't all that good.

Mick Taylor really got the Stones to there height of there fame. The Stones released lots of great songs in the 70's with Mick Taylor. I think they produced a lot more quality material then the Brian Jones and Ronnie Wood era of the Rolling Stones.
