The NFL breaks the streak of rock music for the Super Bowl Halftime show and goes a little hip-hop. The Black Eyed Peas score the gig and will perform the Halftime show in Super Bowl XLV. Many people have complained about the NFL bringing in "dinosaurs" and "has-beens" in to rock the stadiums the past couple of years.

I'm sure some are disappointed, or some don't really care and just watch the game. But you guys have any bands you like to see perform other than BEP??? Lots of people thought that ZZ Top would've been appropriate since it is in Dallas, but idk. Who would you like to see on one of the biggest stages on TV?

I would rather see "Buckcherry" or "Radiohead" or "Muse" or...well the list would be quite long Fielding.

I don't like the Black Eyed Peas, and I only watch the game anyway so it won't really matter who plays at half time as far as I'm concerned. (I will invite ZZ Top or Ted Nugent or Led Zeppelin over to play at halftime,,,much more fun.:cheers2)

Black Eyed Peas sound ridiculously BAD live, so I wonder what their reasoning was in picking them. At least pick an artist like Pink who can actually perform. So, in other words, any band off the top of my head would be a better choice than BEP.
Van Halen would have been a killer choice, but then again, they would call them "dinosaurs." I'm not too fond of Muse, but Radiohead would be another good one. Perhaps bring in some metal, like Iron Maiden!! Or better yet, bring in my boys RUSH!!!

Sadly ,the first thing that comes to mind is that 'At least most people KNOW who they are..?"

Last year folks at work,Folks complained that The Who were too loud.didn't know the music and switched it off during their show :wtf:

Really , Not kidding !!

Gotta give the people what they want...they sell alot of beer etc during the Super Bowl ..so go with the popular choice ..

Yes I'm being sarcastic....

But I guess I'll be the one to switch it off during Halftime ...because it's too loud,I don't know the music..:****:

^^I can't remember the last time I watched the halftime show Astrid, I simply leave the tv on turn off the sound and play what I want. Even when the old gang gathered for the game we enjoyed ourselves during the break and didn't watch the show at all.

I wonder why the NFL puts so much emphasis on it anyway?, the acoustics suck, the performers are just getting their groove on and then it ends. It would be better to have a Post game concert at a good venue to celebrate the game, but what do I know I am an old dinosaur myself.:grinthumb

What do I think? I think I don't care because I never watch the Superbowl anyway.

I only watched The Who last year because I happened to have wandered through the living room just as they started their set and decided to watch.

I never watched the half time show or the game period so it doesn't matter. This is the second thread where people have said BEP suck live and I'm thinking well yeah, this site isn't a breeding grounds for Hip-Hop groups so if you don't like the genre you're not going to like anything you like live so how can it be rated here? :heheh: I like Hip Hop just like any other genres and I'm a Black Eyed Peas fan. They bring back a fun flavor that Hip-Hop hadn't had in forever (DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, Sugar Hill Gang, etc.) and the more goofy they get the better I like them. I'm not afraid to rate a performance as bad live even if I like a group but all I can say is when I saw them they were awesome. What do you expect from a BEP concert? For the rappers to stay on flow, Fergie to belt out her parts and a hell of a lot of energy. I've never heard any failures on those elements by them and definitely not the night they came to my college and performed. Do I care if they are wanted at the game? No, it doesn't effect me but I'm wondering if they are being rated legit here or are just not liked in general? :D
