In reality though (Maybe I'm Wrong but...)... 3 or 4 of the bands listed,I don't recall them headlining & selling out 15000-20000 arenas. I know I seen Loverboy opened up for headliners such as ZZ Top & Kansas (who are not listed) at arenas.

As long as we have Arena Rock why not have Stadium Rock also?

Rolling Stones
The Who
Grateful Dead
Santana
Aerosmith
Ted Nugent
Lynyrd Skynyrd

Back in the 70's I recall Aerosmith & Nugent playing Stadiums

I know in the mid 70's he definitely played Rich Stadium in Buffalo & CNE Stadium in Toronto, & of course Cal Jam II which technically was a race track but it held 300,000

Yeah I'm not sure if Aerosmith was on the bill with Nugent in Buffalo (it may have been Skynyrd) but I know they were together in Toronto & if I'm not mistaken it was with Johnny Winter & the Ramones who were booed off the stage from what I was Told

Things like "Hair Metal" or "Arena Rock" to me means "bands who play for ***loads of fans" :heheh:
.

I never thought of it like that, but you're right MP. These AOR bands would picke huge venues and pack the house.......I mean rock the house :D Aerosmith had some of the most successful concert tours of the late 70's, which is probably why they didn't make the list for the 80's.
