Origin Portland, Oregon, United States
Genres Thrash Metal, Blackened thrash metal, Speed metal
Years active 1999–present

Toxic Holocaust is a Thrash Metal band from Portland, Oregon, that is I\influenced by punk rock and heavy metal bands such as Black Flag, Discharge, Motörhead, Exodus, Destruction, Kreator, Sodom, Bathory, Celtic Frost, Venom, Possessed and Death. Joel Grind founded Toxic Holocaust in 1999 where he originally wrote and recorded all of the band's music himself. When playing live, Joel Grind hires members of other bands to perform with him on stage. The cover art of the albums are done by Ed Repka who is known for iconic covers for classic metal albums by bands such as Megadeth and Death.

Is it just me or do they have some hawt beast band art?

I crave for them to produce more studio albums. They're one of those bands that I just need to get new material from. Toxic Holocaust is up there with Municipal Waste for me.

the cover art is bad ass.

they are great live. Joel is such a nice dude also. he takes time after the show (at least when I saw them) to b/s with everyone.

No shit? I can see that about the guys. They're not too cocky and that comes with having the purpose of playing shows for the people and not the pay.

It's one of my favorites.

Yea. They are't at all. That is what I love about most underground bands. They are so down to earth it is great.

I'd have to say my favorite song by them is Nuke The Cross. Love the riff and just the way he says Nuke The Cross.

This is a good band. Love the 80's look as if Motley Crue went thrash. :heheh:

Good tunes, tight production and cool cover art. :cheers2

Going to bump this thread. Heard the song Bitch on Sons Of Anarchy on Tuesday which renewed my interest in them. It was off their newest release, Conjure and Command.
Downloaded the album when it first came out, but really never gave it too many listens and not because its not a good album (their best IMO), but just pushed it aside because of other albums unfortunately.

What is Blackened Thrash Metal? I lose track of the phenomenal number of metal sub-genres, I recall that I once counted around 80, I think my favourites were Opera Metal and Brutal Death Metal. Toxic Holocaust is a great name, you could probably do a PhD on some of the great song and band names they come up with, it's kinda fun inventing your own actually, like "I Drip Mentrual Blood on You, Grannie Dear" by "Open Bowels from Hell" :oy:
