One of the most underated bands in the history of rock. They also have one of the most underated songs "Cult of Personallity." A Funk Metal band from the 80's and still going strong. A band with strong political messages, funky bass lines, Vernon Reid's jaw dropping guitar playing, Corey Glover's lighting bolt energy and powerful vocals, and Will Calhoun's solid drumming.

Check out their performance the on Arsenio Hall show and watch the out of place people in the audience. Some of them have a WTF face. BTW the musicianship displayed here is impressive. Also Reid's solo is climatic.

Been a fan of theirs for a long time myself. I remembered the lead singer when I watched Platoon last week, who knew he would leave acting to front a rock and roll band.

Can't stand Arsenio Hall though...:nw:

"Vivid" is their best album. I think they fell prey to the "sopomore" syndrome and never recovered. They were a very good band, though.

I agree that Vivid was the best album of theirs. That reunion album they did several years back (with the cover of Back in Black) was all right but not nearly as good as I had hoped for.

Yeah, they were a great band. I saw them in '91 or '92 ( with King's X as opener - what a show!)...they were excellent live.

Hands down, the best album recorded in 1988, period. That this got on the radio is incredible to me. Those of us alive to watch them come on the scene for the first time, I feel, got to see something truly special. We've never, ever seen anything like that since.

These guys are still touring, too! I, sadly, missed my chance to see them at Key Club last year.
