Re: Enuff Z'nuff

Check out the interview with Chip Z'Nuff. He talks about the tour the band just came from where they were touring with Faster Pussycat.

Chip Z'Nuff and Sleaze Roxx said:
Chip Z'Nuff: Yeah, us travelling around in our old 1969 Rolling Stones tour bus, which was almost famous. There were 15 guys on the bus, Dirty Passion from Sweden, Enuff Z'Nuff and Faster Pussycat -- all on the one bus. The first show was in London, a great night with tons of people, it just felt really great to go back out there and play. It always feels like a second home, and then right after that, that's when we started running into all the trouble. We got to Paris and played the show but we got outta there late and got searched out there, then we got to Italy and got pulled over there and it seemed like every city we played there was some kinda turmoil or getting searched, but that's all part of the tour though.

Sleaze Roxx: I'm not surprised you got stopped all the time because I saw the state of that tour bus and it was a bit of a wreck to put it mildly.

Chip?? I'll have to look that up. He's a cool guy and pretty quiet.

He's very talented and a fan of many classics. You should really check into more of their later work...they have 13 albums. It may surprise you.

I've opened for them many times being from Chicago...yeah he's always cool. A real fan in every sense as well as a musician.

"New Thing" and "Fly High Michelle" - something about those two tracks really Got to me. I felt their sound in my Soul. Something ethereal and omnipresent about it. Can't say I am overly familiar with their catalog but I appreciate this thread for exposing me to it.

By the way, you OPENED FOR THESE GUYS? That rocks so hard! What was that like?

trust me I've heard plenty of them. My brother who is friends with them plays them all the time. I listened to some this past weekend at his beachouse. They are a good band just not my cup of tea, but I don't run away from the room when they are on either.

The later you go the better it is. I opened a few times for them. When I was in a band called Cheri Lane, I partied at Donnie's (singers) house with just myself, my guitar player (who was a roadie) and Donnie. My buddy Greg went on a beer run and Donnie and I went downstairs and hammered out some melodies...we both appreciated each other's songwriting that night.

After that it seemed like I ran into them alot. Bars...opening for them....backstage...hotel room parties....you have to understand though that they were from Chicago's South Side and were on the local scene. I was there, at Donnie's pad when he and Derek (R.I.P.) were doing pre-production work for their second album Strength. Missing You was the track they were working on that day.

One gig I really enjoyed was when my band played a rendition of RAIN by the Beatles and Donnie came up and sang it with me. Not many headliners come out and boost the opener in such a way.

I still remember running into Chip at places like Standing Room Only before they were signed...when their name was first dropped at a Chicago Music Promotion convention...and when the first video hit MTV (New Thing)...it was all exciting and I was behind them 100%...still am.:grinthumb

They got their break with Fagerstein and things seemed to be going really well....but after they had parted ways it seemed to go downhill...however the die hard following stayed loyal and many better albums/music had followed.

Here's a newer track that is amazing and beautiful from their 12th CD "?" !!

I still love this song!! FREAK from Paraphernalia! ...very me in alot of my writing...

Here is some NEW 2010 material!!

Wow 13 albums out??!!?? I only have their debut!! I like the debut a lot & I really thought they might break it but I think they were a couple of years too late with their debut
