I love Clapton's work on the Blind Faith album. The whole thing is brilliant.

I think all his music would sound better using A Les Paul. The Strat is too tinny and whiney for rock and blues. Listen to Floating Bridge if you wanna hear EC doing some heavy duty blues.
Try listening to Paul Kossoff playing with Free. His Les Paul will blow your doors off! His style was minimal, yet powerfully adept.I have to disagree.. I love most of the strat tones.. mostly his clean tones.. they are ballsy and full, still twangy and jangly.. I love it
