:wtf:

I don't understand what you...people...you Nickleback lovers:heheh: like about them... I don't even find really any of their songs to have a good hook or catchy or anything, I can not find one thing to redeem them, it all just sounds very half assed to me
People can rip on Nickleback all they want. Not sure what the problem is with most people when it comes to these guys. Actually I think I know what it might be and it's completely opposite of your opinion shown above eberg.... most of their songs are COVERED in hooks and are very catchy. Now I'm not ripping you personally, but I don't know how you could miss that. IF you dont care for it... hey, that's cool. But this band and their songs are full of catchiness.

I'll say this, Radiohead and other incredibly overrated bands of the past 10 to 20 years could only be so lucky to have a fraction of the talent of Nickleback. Yeah, I said it.

I don't think Nickleback is all that bad. I have All The Right Reasons...and I have to admit...I hum my way through more than a few songs from it.

Re: Nickelback ~ All the Right Reasons

I'm very familiar with this album, and not of my own accord. For one thing songs like "Rockstar" and "Photograph" managed to work their ways onto the classic rock radio stations of northern Ohio (along with Hinder and Theory of a Deadman) and...I...really...don't know why. That aside though my mom has played the CRAP out of this album (further supporting Magic's theory I suppose).

As are my complaints with many popular bands the problem I have with them is overexposure. I didn't have a problem with Nickelback before this album and even for a decent amount of time after it's release but it reached that point where it was like "Ok, that's enough.".

When it comes to Nickelback I'd really much rather listen to "Hero", "Someday", or "Flat On The Floor" over anything off this album of it's follow up (once again, overexposure). My dislike for Nickelback still is much less intense then most people who don't like them. They're middle of the road, radio rock and that's all well and good. I don't hate them but I'd just much rather not listen to them.

As for the writeup itself (now that my rant is done) I think you did a very good, accurate job, Feldy.

Re: Nickelback ~ All the Right Reasons

Nickleback and Three Doors Down are two very big reasons I don't listen to modern rock radio anymore. Magic said it best...PREDICTABLE. She meant it as a compliment...but to me that's the death knell of rock music. Predictability.

I've always found Nickeback to be predictably BAD. :)

I will spare you all the rant about how Radiohead is so far ahead of Nickleback in every conceivable way. Suffice to say I disagree with Lynch.

Nice review, Feldster.

see predictible can be a good thing. Like ACDC for example, I know they are not going to slip in a piano driven ballad on any album they put out. Hells Bells is the closest song they ever had to a balad. See but, even though there music is predictable it is great classic hard rock at its best
