Arcade Fire is one of the more prominent and well known bands in this craze of indie. They hail from Montreal and are lead by husband and wife duo, Win Butler and Régine Chassagne. The band collectively is well known for being composed of multi instrumentalists that use violins, accordions, harps, french horns, mandolins, and glockenspiels in various songs. Their debut album, Funeral, was released in 2004 and was met with great critical acclaim. The band followed this up with the phenomenal album Neon Bible in 2007. The long awaited follow up to Neon Bible is said to be finished and set for release later this year.

Albums

Funeral (2004)
Neon Bible (2007)
The Suburbs (2010)
Reflektor (2013)

I like these guys! They kind of remind me of Janes Addiction especially on Funeral which I own as well Neon Bible! These guys have a lot of energy in their music and they are good to listen to when I'm in a particular mood! :grinthumb

...Sigh another band I will have to check out. I have heard of them TL, but never picked up any of their albums...and from the way you describe them I am sure I would enjoy their music.

Thanks for the thread.:grinthumb

Big fan of Arcade Fire I just hope they can keep it up with their 3rd release.
Funeral is my favorite album. Tunnels, Power Out and Rebellion are all great.
Neon Bible is excellent also and the tours around both albums were even better. Seen Arcade Fire numerous times including seeing them once play with David Byrne and another time with David Bowie. I really like when they had Owen Pallett play violin with them or when they add a brass section.

^^I don't just listen to the same favorites all the time TL...I have so much music it's just hard to get to everything sometimes.

You could drop down to the classical section and I could say the same thing...:grinthumb
