It has a nice melody to it although I could've done without those weird breaks in the song where it sounds like a cassette tape got stuck during playback. 6.5/10
It's hard to believe this is off the Head Games album as it doesn't sound as polished or mature as the other well-known songs on that record. It doesn't even sound like Foreigner until Lou Gramm starts belting out certain verses. Not a bad tune, but I would've guessed this was off the first...
Such a strange song as this beautiful melody sounds familiar, and yet I can't put my finger on where I might have heard another variation of it before. I only wish the strings were played as legato instead of the artist using that staccato technique as I think the former would sound better. 8/10
I'm trying to remember a certain band who did a cover of The Beatles "Across The Universe" but their name escapes me. They are a European band, possibly German, with a very pretty woman who sings on at least some of their songs.
Anyone know who this is?
I remember hearing this one in department stores back in the day. It's not something I'd go out and purchase, but the chorus is pleasant and a bit catchy. 7.3/10
Thanks to you Hydra, I've come to really like this band. I always appreciate Michael Schenker's talent, and the combination of acoustic and electric guitar work in this song is a testament to his skill. 8/10
Admittedly, I haven't heard a lot of Santana other than a couple of his hits. This one is very interesting with an odd time signature and a jazzy, progressive feel to it. The percussion in particular really stood out to me. 7.8/10
While I like the goth atmosphere and post-punk energy, I don't care much for his vocal style. 6/10
This band used to be described as Gothic...but now the kids call them Darkwave.
Top-notch rockabilly from these guys that came at a point in the 80s when the 50s nostalgia was really popular. They appeared on the scene at exactly the right time to capitalize on their taste in retro music. Also love the tasty licks coming from that Gretch. 9/10
I was sure I was gonna hate it based on the thumbnail alone. Expected some kind of mumble rap but instead it was more of a loungy, electronica number peppered with some guitar licks...with lyrics apparently written by Jimi Hendrix. Never heard the original but this cover(?) wasn't too bad. 7/10.
