Default Your Favourite "Classic Prog" Album

Vote for you favourite progressive rock album of the '70's.

If you vote for "other", list your album and even if you like your more than welcome to critique my list of what Lp should or should not be on the list.

My vote would go to Close To The Edge just nudging out Fragile.

Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon for me.

I would give an honorable mention to Alan Parsons Project Tales of Mystery and Imagination, I always considered it underrated.(I think it qualifies as a Prog album.)

That is a very good list Joe, you really know your stuff.

I have every album on the list except the two with the Spanish?, names.

^^^LG I would agree with you that Alan Parsons is prog. Tales is a great album, but for me I Robot gets the nod. BTW, Banco and PFM are Italian. Excellent and beautiful prog is one reason why I listed them, but also for our European friends. DaKillerWolf posted some tracks from these bands on the obscure prog. gems thread.

Robot was the first Project album I bought, it is top drawer as well.

Thanks, I don't know alot about Italian prog music, Goblin is the only Italian band I have any albums by(Not including Rhapsody of Fire), I'll have to check them out in your thread, it takes me a while to catch up sometimes.

YES ~ Close to the Edge, followed closely by, ELP ~ Tarkus.

I think the list could use a bit more Nordic music but then the bands I have in mind are probably not all that all that well known.

It's a toss up between ''Close To The Edge'' and ''Dark Side Of The Moon'' and the first Emerson, Lake & Palmer album...

I'm gonna need a little time to think about this....

I voted for the face.

Though had "The Wall" been up there with "Dark Side..." then I would have voted for it. I just didn't feel like using the "other" option.

This is what I call an epic hard list

I could pick MANY of these...really...but one that I spin more than the others would have to be this right here.

So it got my vote.

Of course, " Fuzzy Duck" is a classic, but I do like King Crimson, Court of and of course, Floyd Rush, there is also some Atomic Rooster too...
