That was epic Kath, I have seen Yes on the Tormato/Going for the One tour, they didn't have any opening act, just over three hours of Yes in their glory on the revolving stage.

If you wish to start a "Deluxe Yes Thread",,,by Kath by all means do so, we have no problem with someone writing a new thread for great bands like this.

oh, i didn't mean i needed to start a new thread. i just meant i needed to add something/anything *yes*-like to my own post, which was more about my own semi-senile splinter online selves over time than it was about the rock group yes. ahem.

have mouth, will babble.

i can yap all i want about yes right this very here and be quite happy.

and separately... jon anderson recently emailed bill bruford and asked him to do something.

these two things are NOT necessarily related. i am putting them together becuz i would LIKE them to be related, and i am DELUSIONAL. thank yew.

I just picked up Anderson's latest solo album two weeks ago..."Deseo" I think it's called. Haven't played it enough to get a feel for it though.

I know one thing for certain without Anderson's vocals it just wouldn't sound like a Yes album to me.

I can listen to Starship Trooper over and over because it just takes me to a place far away in my mind. Especially from 5:40 until the end here.

Well, I saw Yes the other night and I gotta say ti was a pretty awesome show. We had general admission (standing room only) tickets and it was a pretty full house ( House Of Blues - Dallas) but once we got settled in to a spot our sightlines were good and we weren't that far from the stage. The first thing - the sound was amazing - you could hear every note that Steve Howe played as clear as a bell...same thing with Chris Squire. And I know it's a hot topic for discussion and a real sore spot with alot of Yes fans, but strictly from a musical standpoint there was no real fall off from Jon Anderson to his replacement Benoit David. Benoit did a really fine job and the vocals didn't suffer at all. And Oliver Wakeman did a bangup job filling his dad's shoes on keys. The only problem I had with the overall sound was Alan White's drums could have been a little beefier in the mix.
They played for a little over two hours ( roughly 2:15). They played mostly the big ones and being a Yes fan, I can think of several songs they didn't play that I would like to have heard but can't complain much. I can't recreate the song order but I think I can remember all the songs...

Siberian Khatru
I've Seen All Good People
Onward
Tempus Fugit
Yours Is No Disgrace
Starship Trooper
Roundabout
Heart Of The Sunrise
Machine Messiah
Owner Of A Lonely Heart
Astral Traveller
And You & I

...I think that's it. So you can see there's alot of great stuff they didn't play but , hey, not a bad setlist for a Tuesday night. I was hoping they would play Long Distance Runaround, South Side Of The Sky, Awaken, maybe Sweet Dreams...not enough time for everything. I was a little surprised that there was nothing from the Topographic Oceans/Relayer/Going For The One period at all...so much music - so little time.

Anyway, they put on a great show. It wasn't as epic as when I saw them in 2002 with Rick Wakeman and they played for three hours but I don't really have any complaints. These veterans have still got it and the young guys delivered.

Nice list DKW...took me a while to get into Relayer when I first bought it years ago, but it has grown on me over the years.

What are your thoughts about 90125 and Big Generator?

I'm not a fan of 90125 or Big Generator. Those are the albums that
made me lose interest in the newer era Yes TBH.

I agree about Big Generator, but 90125 I really enjoyed, it was such a huge departure for the band from their trademark sound, but just that album. When Drama came out I lost interest in them 90125 rekindled it for me.
