I've even gone so far as to say that Born to Run is the perfect rock song.
I've heard other people say that and I don't get it. Musically it's ok. Lyrically, it's silly as hell. Makes me wonder about the people of NJ that tried to petition years ago to make that song the state anthem

he's got a ton of talent and comparing him to Jimi isn't that far fetched. If anyone wants to say that his guitar skills are as influential as Jimi, then yeah I agree with you, but it's VERY obvious in some of his guitar playing that he was heavily influenced by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Clapton, Harrison, et all.

I've never seen Billy Joel live, although I always think about it when him and Elton tour together. Just my opinion here, but holding a couple of songs against him and his entire career is silly. It's like disqualifying the works of Led Zeppelin based on Coda, LZIII and Presence, all of which suck compared to their other albums.
Actually there was a thing in Rolling Stone a couple of months ago about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, in which the writer described Prince's guitar solo in While My Guitar Gently Weeps during George Harrison's induction as being phenomenal. A legendary moment. I haven't seen it, but would really like to. It might change my mind at least about his level of talent. I've tried to appreciate his own music, but to no avail.
I'm sort of an odd duck when it comes to Springsteen, because my favorite album of his is The Ghost of Tom Joad. He played Oklahoma about this time last year for the first time since 75's Born to Run tour. I count myself extremely lucky that I got to see him. It was an incredible performance...
I am not a Prince fan Jackory, but I have to say he did a great job on the solo for "My Guitar Gently Weeps",,,then again having Tom Petty, and Jeff Lynne plus a host of others on stage didn't hurt. But Prince can play, even though I don't like his music at all.

Here it is. I'm not a huge Prince fan, but I will say that Prince's solo is one heckuva solo.

Well me and that writer are on the same page then. And here is your chance to see it. For some time I thought this was the single greatest thing Prince ever did in his career, though I've seen become a fan of his songs.
They are a fun band.. I saw them in 2006 and they put on an excellent show too.... I will say, I've lost tons of respect for BM in the past few years though... I can't take their music seriously, but it's not a bad thing to listen to
I love reading what other people think is crap!! I really like some of the bands that some of you think are crap. Anyway, what does it matter - I don't care what people think of my taste in music
