I liked the first 2 or 3 studio albums by the Crowes, but kind of stopped following them after that aside from the Crowes/Page CD shown below, which was a hell of a good listen.
Quality band.!!.....I too own and love the first two BLACK CROWES albums.......saw them "live" in their heydey...very impressive!
What album since these would you strongly recommened?
great track!.....Ive neglected them for too long...
I would recommend the last 2 albums... Warpaint and the latest Double CD before the Frost and until the freeze. I honestly feel that the Crowes are at their best right now! I love the Groovy sounds and Luther is an amazing slide guitar player and I love what he brings!

Reason: TYPO
They remind me of when I was first dating my x-hubby lol/ the happier days of course !
Chris Robinson got that bluesy,rock-a-billy thing and the energy of Jagger ...
Brother Richie Robinson is a very underrated musician who excellently compliments his brothers hyperness with his calm yet rocking playing !
this is one of my favorite all time songs
JEALOUS AGAIN !

I love this band and a great thread, I have seen them many a time and they are a great bunch of musicians. I have all their albums and look forward to hearing their apparent swansong this year, should be good.
I used to live in Marietta Ga. when the Robinson brothers were going to high school there (my middle school band director was the band director at their high school while they were there...come to think of it, my ex-wife went there too...she was a senior when Chris R. was a freshman).
I saw them back when they were still called Mr. Crowe's Garden, and I saw them again a few years ago. (the new guitarist from the Mississippi All Stars was a good choice for them).
They did a fantastic job backing up Jimmy Page, I don't think Jimmy could have picked a better-suited band to tour with him for the Zep material. I'm proud to be from the same county as the Robinson Bros.!
Sad to hear that the Crowes are coming to an end, first I've heard about that, Sweaty.

Seriously ? The End for them ?

Yep, it's true, the Crowes are coming to an end. The 2010 release of Croweology is their last. This album is more than just a compilation, it is some of their finest moments in acoustic......
If you get this album, you will notice some great additions to the music like fiddle, banjo, and added percussion. Some of the songs have been completely reworked. "Downtown Money Washer" is a hoot, complete with banjo, harmonica, slide guitar, and mandolin (a country style song). "Thorn in My Pride" has a great mid-song jam added. If you are a Crowes fan, you wont be disappointed.

Really? I haven't heard that and I consider myself a pretty big Crowes Fan? Where did you read or hear this important but bad news? I was really thinking that a new album with new material would be in the works after this tour...this is gonna make the show in October @ Massey Hall (Toronto,Canada) bittersweet...
I too have seen them in their heyday and love the first two albums, I have all their albums and will be buying the new one very soon. They have a certain quality and really know how to capture an audience. They do mature with age and seem to have been around for ever, I remember seeing them in Sheffield and they rocked the house and the hammond.
Twice as hard is a classic and Shake your money maker is a classic debut.
That's what they say....but, I personally don't believe it.
They already took a 6 and a half year break, last decade and came back...
I seriously doubt this is the end of the Black Crowes.

Totally agree Groovy Man, I would not be surprised to see them put together another album. No offense to Marc Ford, but I really really like the current Crowes lineup. I see Chris and Rich and others doing some personal side stuff, but from what I saw on the Cabin Fever DVD they really seem to be getting along great and really making some very good Rock n Roll Music. I am totally excited about seeing them on October 27th in Toronto @ Massey Hall. 3hrs of Crowes Shit is going to be awesome. Last time I saw them @ Massey Hall in 2006 the setlist was great IMO
